Deadly Little Secret – The Book
Dr. Blackwelder is completing the final manuscript for his new book, Deadly Little Secret, which is an account of an Eagle Scout and high school all star football player that murdered his father, mother, and teenaged sister at the command of his Boy Scout master.
Dr. and Mrs. Blackwelder spent long hours in Lonoke, Arkansas, investigating and researching the case of Heath Carlton Stocks, an upstanding Lonoke, Arkansas, youth that is currently serving three life-without-parole sentences in Tucker Maximum Security Facility in Tucker, Arkansas.
Stocks had been sexually molested by his Boy Schout master, Jack Walls III who, in addition to Stocks, had molested more than 30 other young boys over a 20 year period of time.
Walls, the community’s Man-of-The-Year, son of a prominent judge, Boy Scout Master, civic and church leader and the man that every parent in the small Arkansas community came to for advice in raising their young sons.
Stocks told Dr. Blackwelder in one of many interviews that Jack Walls III had ordered him to systematically kills his parents and he did what he was told, without question.
Stocks is one of a number of young boys whose lives were ruined by this sexual predator. Walls’ own nephew, himself a victim of this Man-of-the-Year, was molested for a number of years. He, after Walls’ arrest, went into his back yard and placed a shotgun barrel against his head and pulled the trigger.
Dr. Blackwelder’s insight into the sociology of mass and serial murder makes Deadly Little Secret a must read. It will be in bookstores by mid summer and may be ordered online as well.
